Evelyn's 90

by Tom Parker
(Feb. 1, 2008)
Well Evelyn's 90, Evelyn's 90
But don't look a day over 85
Well Evelyn's 90, Evelyn's 90
And we're glad that she is well and alive
Born in Detroit way back in '18
To Izzy & Sarah Abramson
With two younger brothers Jack and Sheldon
Her time had just begun
So watch out for Evelyn
Child of the Depression, that was a lesson
To this day she still turns off all the lights
Keeping the books and dancing with her friends
And piano playing was her delight
Then she met Max and they fell in love
And started a family
With her three sons: Jeff, Tom and Skippy
Now she was on her way
Well Evelyn's 90, Evelyn's 90
And the doctor says that she's off the charts
Well Evelyn's 90, Evelyn's 90
Could it be because she's got a big heart

Went back to school and got her degree
And taught in the library
From Marlowe to Southfield and to West Bloomfield
Now she's at Heritage
That's on 11 Mile
Well Evelyn's 90, Evelyn's 90
But don't look a day over 85, I say
Evelyn's 90, Evelyn's 90
And we're glad that she is well and alive
Playing bridge and becoming a Life Master
Hanging with pal Mamie
It was so sad when Max passed away
And boy do we miss him
So Evelyn's 90, Evelyn's 90
But don't look a day over 85
Well Evelyn's 90, Mother is 90
And we're glad that she is well and alive

We're glad that she is well and alive
And hope that she continues to thrive
